As 2019 approaches, I thought a blog post on interior trends for 2019 would be appropriate. Colour is going to be a key feature in 2019. ‘Living Coral’ is the Pantone colour of the year; a vibrant, yet mellow colour with a warm, golden undertone

Many aspects influence the colour choice; beauty, fashion and art; the design team at Pantone look to see what people are wearing, buying and posting about on social media. In a time where social media is at the forefront of our day to day lives, digital images can often look cold and isolating, however ‘Living Coral’ has depth of colour and enables texture and dimension to stand out within an image. This is why ‘Living Coral’ is so applicable in the home and design space.

We normally see strong colour used as an accent colour within Interiors. Keeping the room neutral and just adding a hint of colour through cushions, throws, art and accessories.

Even though coral is bright and bold, it’s something we’re seeing people embrace on a larger scale. It’s the kind of colour you could paint a whole room. It would look striking in a hallway or bathroom. It’s a uplifting and joyful shade people want to live with.

I have included some images which show how the colour ‘Living Coral’ can be incorporated within interiors; through fabric, wallpaper and paint. The collections attached are available at our Hathersage Design Studio.

Look forward to seeing you in our new design studio showroom at:-
